Fairytale Costume Showdown & Movie Night: The Princess Bride

Bring your favorite fairytale and fantasy characters to life at our Fairytale Costume Showdown! Whether you're a princess, a knight, a mythical creature, or a character from a fantasy saga, come on down for a showdown on the Moore square runway and compete for prizes.

After the showdown, sit back and enjoy our special screening of 'The Princess Bride.' As always, we will have food trucks, family games and shopping!

• Market: 5:00-9:00 pm
• Costume Showdown: 6:30 - 7:15 pm
• Free Movie: “The Princess Bride",  starts ~ 7:30 pm (presented by the City of Raleigh!)

Costume Showdown info:

Check-in for the costume contest begins at 5:30 pm

Costume contest starts at 6:30 pm

Results will be announced at 7:15 pm

Winners will be selected in the following categories:

1. Most Creative Costume: For the costume that demonstrates the most originality or unique interpretation of a character.

2. Best Coordinated Costume:  Best coordinated costumes for families, couples, or a group

3. Best Child's Costume: Best overall costume award for children (<13).

4. Best Character Likeness: The costume that bears the most resemblance to the original fairytale or fantasy character.

5. Best Costume Overall: Individuals with the most outstanding costume overall, considering factors like creativity, craftsmanship, and resemblance to the character. (Three awards in this category including best, 1st runner up and 2ndrunner up.)

Note: The lawn fills up quickly for the movie. If you plan on staying for the movie, please arrive early to secure a preferred spot on the lawn.
